WE ARE THE CO-FOUNDERS OF CONNHUGH’S PLAYGROUND, AN ONLINE SOCIAL PLATFORM CREATED BY SEASONED EDUCATORS AND COMMUNITY BUILDERS WITH OVER 40 YEARS OF COMBINED EXPERIENCE
Our names are Sharon Connelly and Katy Hughes, and we help children ages 8–13 develop a strong sense of self-worth through meaningful online social connections. We also support parents and caregivers by offering intentional community spaces and monthly cafes that acknowledge the realities of modern family life.
We are driven by a shared mission to rebuild the “global village,” a community where families feel supported, connected, and seen.
Our platform serves children across North America and globally who are eager for community, particularly those who may face barriers to in-person connection, such as illness, homeschooling, or busy family schedules. We also support parents—especially working professionals, single parents and caregivers, or those with limited time or mobility—by offering their children a safe, joyful space to belong, while giving caregivers a chance to pause, reflect, and reconnect.
With graduate degrees in education and decades of collaborative work in curriculum development, child-centred programming, and inclusive community engagement, we bring deep expertise to everything we create. ur work has been shaped by research, countless projects, productions, and partnerships focused on equity, creativity, emotional development, and whole-child education.

Busy schedules, limited in-person options, and growing isolation were leaving both kids and parents and caregivers feeling overwhelmed and alone.
SO WE CREATED A JOYFUL ONLINE SPACE WHERE KIDS CAN BELONG AND GROW
